Google announced on Thursday its cloud unit has won a deal to supply computing and networking resources to Elon Musk's SpaceX, to help deliver internet service through its Starlink satellites to remote areas of the world.
SpaceX will install ground stations at Google data centers that connect to SpaceX’s Starlink satellites, with an eye toward providing fast internet service to enterprises in the second half of this year. The first Starlink terminal will be at Google’s New Albany, Ohio.
So how does this all connect to Hedera Hashgraph?
If you've been following the Hedera news for the past years or you have visited hedera.com you should know that Google Cloud is part of Hedera's governing council.
We think that there might be a new relationship forming between SpaceX and Hedera, if Google Cloud chooses to use Hedera's technology in this deal.
For now, this is just a speculation. Hopefully we will get more news about this in the upcoming months.
At least we are not the only ones thinking this has something to do with Hedera. Since the price went up 80% from $0.227 to $0.41 on May 12, 2021 after this announcement.
